New Delhi: The Union Cabinet today decided to provide a discount of Rs 15 per kilogram on pulses over wholesale market price to states for distribution under welfare schemes.

New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today gave its approval for continuation of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) beyond the 12th five-year plan period.

LD STOCKS
Mumbai: Benchmark Sensex broke past the 38,000-barrier for the first time, while the NSE Nifty extended its record run for the fifth day today as optimism surrounding the India growth story continued to override global trade concerns.

DRIVING LICENCE-DIGILOCKER
New Delhi: States have been asked to accept driving licence, registration certificate or other documents in ‘electronic form’ presented through DigiLocker or mParivahan platforms, the government said today.

SEBI-LD CALL INTERCEPT
New Delhi: Suggesting sweeping reforms, a high-level committee today recommended market watchdog Sebi to seek powers to intercept calls to aid investigations and also grant immunity to whistle-blowers blowing the lid off frauds and other violations.

New Delhi: PNB Housing Finance today reported a jump of 50 per cent in its net profit at Rs 255.80 crore in first quarter of the current fiscal on healthy loan disbursements.

New Delhi: Aditya Birla Group plans to give bigger role to Idea Cellular Managing Director and CEO Himanshu Kapania, including first ever position of vice-chairman at Grasim Industries after completion of company’s telecom business merger with Vodafone.

New Delhi: E-commerce major Flipkart plans to expand its online grocery service ‘Supermart’ to 5-6 major Indian cities by the end of the year as it takes head-on players like Alibaba-backed BigBasket and SoftBank-funded Grofers as well as rival Amazon India.

PAYTM-ACQUISITION
New Delhi: Digital payments major Paytm today said it has acquired Bengaluru-based savings management startup, Balance Technology for an undisclosed amount.

HPCL-ONGC
New Delhi: Virtually rejecting ONGC’s demand, Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) has said it is acting as per its understanding of the statute in not recognising the new majority shareholder as its promoter.

RUPEE CLOSE
