Vasantdada Sugar Institute (VSI), an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization is an autonomous body established in 1975 at Pune by cane growers of co-operative sugar mills in Maharashtra State with generous support of State and Central Government. VSI’s mission is to bring about an overall improvement in the socio-economic status of sugarcane growers by providing cutting edge technologies through scientific research related to sugarcane and sugarcane co-products.
VSI is organizing 3rd International Conference on “Sustainability Challenges & Opportunities in Global Sugar Industries” from 12th to 14th January, 2024 at VSI campus, Pune. Eminent International and National speakers will be delivering lectures on significantly different important aspects of sugar and allied industry. Around 3000 delegates are expected to participate in this conference from across the globe.
It is a matter of great pride for VSI that 1st International Conference was held from 13th to 16th November, 2016 and there was an overwhelming response from all stake holders. After this successful event, VSI organized the 2nd International Conference from 31st January – 2nd February, 2020 and this conference was marked by tremendous response from machinery manufacturers and fellow participants encompassing scientists from Sugar Engineering, Sugar Technology, Alcohol Technology & Biofuels and Agriculture. Agricultural and other universities actively participated in deliberations and around 150 thousand visitors visited the Live Crop Demonstration and Exhibition. The most heartening aspect of the conference was the Live Crop Demonstration and Exhibition, covering different varieties of sugarcane, irrigation, methodology and inter-crop cultivation, different agronomical practices and management of pests and diseases through an integrated approach. There will be an exhibition of different technologies and developments in sugar and co-product industry coupled with live demonstration showing various advanced technologies and agronomical practices in cultivation.
In addition, scientists and researchers shall present their research papers in poster form.
