After Kolhapur, sugar mill from the Nagpur region has also commenced concluding the crushing season.
According to the state sugar commissionerate, 12 sugar mills have closed their crushing operations till March 13, 2022, including 11 from the Kolhapur division and one from the Nagpur division.
Total 197 sugar mills have participated in the ongoing season, which includes 98 cooperative mills and 99 private mills. These mills have produced 1074.35 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 1039.47 lakh tonne sugarcane with a recovery rate of 10.34 per cent.
In the Nagpur division, four sugar mills participated in the cane crushing operations and they have so far produced 3.38 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 3.96 lakh tonne sugarcane.
