Sugarcane crushing season in Maharashtra is at its peak and the Solapur division is leading in the state with 41 sugar mills operating this season, till November 30, 2021.
As per the data released by the state sugar commissionerate, mills in the Solapur division have produced 42.88 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 51.89 lakh tonne sugarcane with a recovery rate of 8.26 per cent. Though Solapur has maximum sugar mills operating this season, Kolhapur division is leading in the sugar production in the state.
Sugar mills in the Kolhapur division have produced 42.88 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 51.89 lakh tonne sugar cane with a recovery rate of 10.44 per cent till November 30 2021.
172 sugar mills in the state have so far started crushing season. Mills have produced 203.43 lakh quintal sugar production by crushing 222.4 lakh tonne sugarcane with a recovery rate of 9.15 per cent.
