Lucknow: Shri P. Guruprasad, Excise Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh has informed that a Special Enforcement Drive is being conducted against illegal liquor in the state from 25-03-2020. During the drive, yesterday 130 cases have been registered in the state, 2715 Litre illegal liquor was seized and 06 persons were sent to jail.
The Excise Commissioner has also informed that with the active efforts of Shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy, Principal Secretary Excise, sanitizers are now being produced by 86 units in the state. So far, 57.63 lakh litres of sanitizer has been produced in the state and 47.85 lakh litres of sanitizer has been sold within and outside the state. Due to this, additional revenue of about Rs 42.87 crores Including GST has been received.
