Lucknow: The state government informed the state assembly on Wednesday that 35,217 crores of pending cane dues have been cleared in the crushing season 2019-20. The amount is around 98% of the total pending dues for that season, said the government.
Cane minister Suresh Rana provided the information after the Congress MLA Naresh Saini raised the issue of pending cane dues. Rana said, “The government is committed to pay all the cane dues to the farmers and we will ensure that the remaining Rs 680 crore will be cleared soon.”
