Bareilly: A crocodile was found in a water tank belonging to the Bajaj-Hindustan sugar mill located at Palia town, district Lakhimpur on Tuesday. The workers on duty for the maintenance of the tank noticed the crocodile and rushed for help. They informed the forest department officials, who launched an operation and rescued it after four hours.
According to the news report published in The Times of India, Anil Patel, Divisional forest officer (DFO) said, “The tank was 10-foot deep making the rescue operation tricky. First, we removed water from the tank and two employees entered in it. They tied the reptile carefully and then it was pulled out of the tank safely.”
“The male crocodile is 3-year-old. We suspect that it might have come along with the floodwater. We are fortunate that it did not harm anyone. The reptile has been released into the Sharda River,” he further added.
