Ponda, Goa: It has been alleged that the Goa Government is working to address sugarcane farmers, sugarcane transporters issue but has ignored the fate of the permanent 110 employees of the Sanjivan sugar factory. The issue has been raised by Goa Suraksha Manch President Nitin Faldesai along with Santosh Satarkar, Shiroda Chief and Harshad Devari, Ponda chief while addressing the media persons.
They claim, the employees are surviving on the inadequate salary and the bonus is pending with the factory administration. Workers are unable to meet their daily expenses due to the lower salaries they get.
Faldesai said, “It may take at least three years for the factory to start operations and we want the government to absorb these workers in the other departments so that they could survive by getting good salaries. Some have been absorbed already but there is a need to absorb all of them.”
