78th Annual Convention by STAI to take place from 20th to 21st October 2020
The most awaited and flagship event of The Sugar Technologists Association of India – 78th Annual Convention and International Sugar Expo 2020 will be held from 20th to 21st October 2020.
For the safety and convenience of the members, this year the convention is being held in a dynamic interactive 3D virtual environment due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic. This will provide the delegates a secure online experience from the comfort & convenience of their home/office and also avoid expenditure on travel or accommodation.
Sharing views about the event Mr. Sanjay Awasthi, President STAI said that “This year the Convention will be bigger and diverse as it will eliminate the geographic boundaries and provide an interactive and engaging platform to the national and international participants to share new experiences/ideas on changing consumer perspective, continued focus on diversification, research and technologies.”
Mr. Awasthi further added “At present juncture the Sugar Industry is passing through a difficult but transformational phase. With the Government support and its impetus on diversion of sugarcane juice to ethanol will be a long term solution to the industry woes towards a profitable and sustainable sugar industry”.
The Convention sees in-depth deliberations and exchange of ideas among the researchers, technocrats, growers and policy makers building a road map for the inclusive growth and development of the sugar and allied industries.
