Mumbai: Equity benchmark Sensex dropped in early trade on Monday. The 30-share BSE index was trading 122.00 points lower at 40,563.50, and the broader NSE Nifty slipped 34.95 points to 11,895.40.
Reliance Industries was the top laggard in the Sensex pack followed by Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, Asian Paints, M&M, ICICI Bank and Bajaj Finserv.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank, Nestle India, PowerGrid and L&T were among the gainers.
