Muzaffarnagar: RLD leaders have threatened to launch an agitation if the sugar mills fail to clear the pending cane arrears on a priority basis. RLD held panchayat over sugarcane farmers issues in Alipur Kala village.
Addressing the panchayat, Sarthak Latiyan, secretary of the student wing of RLD, said, “Sugar mills have commenced the crushing operations but pending cane dues of the previous season have not been cleared yet.
The festival season is around the corner but farmers have not enough fund to meet their daily needs.”
RLD has warned sugar mills that if dues are not paid then they will launch an agitation.
