Mumbai: Equity benchmark Sensex surged in early trade on Wednesday ahead of the outcome of the US presidential elections. At 10:21 am, the 30-share BSE index was trading 111.38 points higher at 40,372.51. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty climbed 27.30 points to 11,840.80.
Infosys was the top gainer in the Sensex pack, appreciating over 4 per cent, followed by Sun Pharma, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech and TCS.
On the other hand, ICICI Bank, Power Grid, Axis Bank, HDFC, and ITC were among the laggards
