Indian cities may face water shortage by 2050. According to the World Wide Fund (WWF) survey, if urgent action is not taken to mitigate and adapt to climate change then thirty Indian cities, including Jaipur, Amritsar, Kolkata, Mumbai, Kozhikode could dramatically face increased water risks.
Not just India, but many cities across the world are already facing the water crisis.
The study says, Globally, populations in areas of high-water risk could rise from 17 per cent in 2020 to 51 per cent by 2050.
