Padrauna, Kushinagar (Uttar Pradesh): Sugarcane farmers have staged a demonstration in various villages of the district against no hike in sugarcane price. They also burnt sugarcane crops to demand an increase in cane rates upto Rs 400 per quintal.
Farmers claim that the excess rainfall during this season has resulted in the waterlogging and affected the sugarcane production. Therefore they have demanded a hike in the cane price.
