Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: Three sugar mills from district namely Daurala, Nangalamal and Sakauta cleared full pending cane dues of the previous season. Now, farmers await for arrears around Rs 288.25 crore from other three sugar mills in the district.
Farmers claim that she sugarcane crushing season has commenced but still they are awaiting of cane dues of last season. Despite their repeated agitation for pending dues, the mills have expressed inability to make payment citing financial crisis. The district administration has warned strict action against mills who fail to clear cane dues in time.
