Ponda, Goa: A store clerk attached with Sanjivani Cooperative Sugar mill was suspended on Friday for allegedly stealing 1.5 kg of waste sugar.
According to a news report published in The Times of India, a resident of Usgao, was found taking the sugar out of the mill in his tiffin box. It was discovered during a security check when he was leaving the mill after work.
Media report further said that he has been charged for stealing and was suspended as per the rules. The sugar was waste and lying unused in the mill premises having no market value. Most of the sugar was auctioned during the 2017-18 season and around three bags sugar was remaining in the mill premises.
