Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh: Sugar mills in the district have started clearing the cane payment for the current crushing season. The Nigohi and Roja sugar mills have paid Rs 33.80 crore to the cane farmers. Other sugar mills in the district are yet to clear cane payment.
The Nigohi Sugar Mill inaugurated the crushing season on 5 November. On Monday, the management paid Rs. 27.20 crores of the sugarcane purchased till 15 November. Whereas Roja sugar mill also commenced the operations on 5 November. Mill has paid 6.61 Rs for the sugarcane procurement done till 10 November.
