Mumbai: Benchmark indices closed higher today. Sensex closed on 24 December at 529.36 points higher at 46,973.54. Nifty ended 148.15 points high at 13,749.25.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on 23 December at 437.49 points higher at 46,444.18. Nifty ended 134.80 points high at 13,601.10.
On the Nifty50 index, Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, RIL and IOC were the top gainers while Infosys, Wipro, Nestle, HCL Tech and UPL led the losses.
