Fiji government has offered l loan options to the sugarcane farmers affected due to Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
Raj Sharma, Sugarcane Growers Fund chief executive officer said, “Sugarcane farmers producing more than 75 tonnes of cane can get loan upto $ 4000 for the repair of house and development of the farm.
Special STC Yasa Disaster Rehabilitation loan will be available till March 31, 2021.”
Farmers can also avail loan from Sugar Cane Growers Council (SCGC).
Farmers producing 75-100 tonne of cane can avail $500, farmers producing 100-150 tonne can avail $750 and more than 150 can avail up to $1000. Farmers can also avail loan for plantation at 0 per cent, he said.
