Saharanpur: The Kisan Cooperative Sugar mill (Sarsawa) has cleared all pending cane dues of the previous season 2019-20. This has brought relief among the cane farmers that were in dire need of money to meet their daily needs.
Since the lockdown, farmers are facing financial problems and have no funds to meet their daily needs.
Sugar mills in Uttar Pradesh have started the operations but still many mills have failed to clear the cane dues of the previous season. Mills claim low sugar sales and financial crisis as a reason behind defaulting in cane bill payment.
