India extends suspension of UK flights till January 7

New Delhi: Owing to the threat of new Covid-19 strain in the UK, India has continued suspension of the flights between India and UK till January 7, 2021. The government has decided to extend the December 23-31 suspension by a week more in wake of the new and more infectious strain of coronavirus.

Aviation minister H S Puri tweeted, “Decision has been taken to extend the temporary suspension of flights to & from the UK till 7 January 2021. Thereafter strictly regulated resumption will take place for which details will be announced shortly.”

Total 67 flights operate between India and UK through four airlines- British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Vistara and Air India. Around 2500 passengers fly daily through these flights.
