Equity benchmark Sensex dropped in early trade on Friday.
At 09:54 am, the 30-share BSE index was trading 221.00 points lower at 49,363.16.
Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty fell 63.75 points to 14,531.85 in opening deals.
UltraTech Cement was the top loser in the Sensex pack followed by Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Asian Paints, IndusInd Bank, Dr Reddy’s, HCL Tech and TCS.
On the other hand, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Titan, Nestle India and ONGC were among the gainers.
