Lucknow: The government is taking efforts for the sugarcane farmers welfare, said Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. Sugarcane production has increased due to the continuous efforts of the state government, he pointed out while directing officials concerned to ensure high yielding crops are provided to sugarcane farmers for sowing.
He was on Sunday reviewing the works of various departments at a review meeting at his official residence here.
According to the Indian Sugar Mills Association, In Uttar Pradesh, 120 sugar mills have produced 42.99 lakh tonnes till 15th January, 2021. In the last 2019-20 SS, 119 sugar mills were in operation on 15th January, 2020 and they had produced 43.78 lakh tonnes of sugar.
