Mumbai: Benchmark indices give thumbs up to the measures announces in the Union Budget 2021 by the Finance Minister to speed up growth.
Benchmark indices closed higher today. Sensex closed on 01 January at 2,314.84 points higher at 48,600.61. Nifty ended 646.60 points high at 14,281.20.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on 28 January at 588.59 points lower at 46,285.77. Nifty ended 182.95 points low at 13,634.60.
IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finserv, SBI and L&T were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were UPL, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Cipla, Tech Mahindra and HUL.
