Poinguinim: The Uss Sanghrsh Samiti Sanguem has requested advocate Narendra Sawaikar to address the issues of cane farmers on a priority basis. Sawaikar is the chairperson of the Sanjivani sugar factory facilitation committee.
The Samiti has submitted the memorandum of their demands to Sawaikar explaining their problems and have also expressed that the mill should start operations for this crushing season.
The farmers also demanded to conduct the general body meeting of the shareholders of the factory and calculate the highest average of the sugarcane supplied by the farmers to the mill in the last eight years.
