The Bihar government has focused on increasing ethanol production in the state and will soon design a policy that will attract investors to set up ethanol plants.
According to the top officials, the policy will help investors to get land and raw material easily to set up ethanol plants.
Brijesh Mehrohtra, additional chief secretary (industry department) said, “The aim of the policy is to attract investment for ethanol production from molasses, sugarcane, maize and cereals. It will cover all aspects so that setting up of plants is easy. It will come up in the next one month or so.”
The state government has taken up steps following the discussion between the Union minister Nitin Gadkari and chief minister Nitish Kumar regarding boosting ethanol production in the state.
