Patna: Bihar government is planning to revive all the closed sugar mills and will also start ethanol production in a big way, said Bihar Industries Minister Shahnawaz Hussain on Friday.
Replying to a debate on budgetary demand of the Industries department for 2020-21 in the Assembly, he said, “The UPA government had denied permission to Bihar government to produce ethanol in 2006-07. This was a major hurdle in the economic development of the state. Now Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken up the issue to start ethanol production in Bihar and this will boost the development of Bihar.
He said, “Our Bihar Industrial Promotion Policy is very attractive and we are expecting to increase investment in the Ethanol production sector in the state.”
“All sugar mills will turn operational and Ethanol production would get a flying start in Bihar,” the minister further added.
