Equity benchmark Sensex tanked over 600 points in early trade on Friday. At 10:20 am, the 30-share BSE index was trading 264.10 points lower at 48,952.42, and the broader NSE Nifty fell 96.75 points to 14,461.10.
ONGC was the top loser in the Sensex pack, followed by L&T, Bajaj Finance, M&M, Maruti, SBI, Titan, HDFC twins and Reliance Industries.
On the other hand, Kotak Bank, Bharti Airtel and PowerGrid were the gainers.
