Pune: Sugar output in Maharashtra has reached 102.48 lakh tonne till April 07 April 2021. According to the sugar commissionerate a total of 189 sugar mills in the state have participated in the cane crushing operations. These mills have crushed 979.06 lakh tonne sugarcane till date. The recovery rate of sugarcane has been recorded at 10.47%.
Six sugar mills from Kolhapur district are operating and 31 have closed their operations. All the 43 sugar mills from Solapur have closed their operations. Total 111 sugar mills in the state have closed their operation.
