“Millers Should Get In touch With Exporters And Commit Quantities Of Sugar For Export” – Sanjay Khatal, M.D. Maharashtra Sugar Federation.

A delegation representing China’s sugar industry has been in the nation to explore the gateway of Indian sugar in the Chinese market. Indian sugar millers are looking forward to export minimum 20 lakh tonnes of raw sugar to China.

According to sources the delegation had a meeting with millers from Maharashtra today at Walawa (Maharashtra). The Chinese delegation consisting of traders, refiners and exporters were contented to get their questions answered satisfactorily from the millers of Maharashtra.

In talks with ChiniMandi News, Mr.Sanjay Khatal- M.D., Maharashtra State Co-Operative Sugar Factories Federation Ltd. said, “The Chinese delegation is highly impressed with the cane cultivation practices in Maharashtra, they are very confident about their decision to import sugar from India. The Chinese delegation has optimistically flagged green signals to import sugar. It is now high time; millers should get in touch with exporters and commit quantities of sugar for export so that the contracts can begin as soon as the Chinese Govt. releases the quota in January.”
