Meerut: Mawana sugar mill has cleared the cane dues of around Rs 15.50 crore of the farmers that had sold their cane till February 7. The mill has transferred the amount to the bank accounts of the respective cane farmers on Saturday.
With this amount, the mill has paid 53 per cent of the total cane dues due to the farmers.
Pramod Baliyan, chief manager (Sugarcane and administration) has thanked all the cane farmers for cooperating with the mill administration during the ongoing season and said the mill will always work for the welfare of cane growers.
As per the directions of the sugarcane department, the mill has also begun the survey of the area under cane cultivation and farmers are requested to fill up the declaration forms online, he said.
