Aurangabad: Maharashtra government will construct 20 hostels for the children of sugarcane workers in the state. The government gave the nod to begin the first phase of the work under the Sant Bhagwan Baba Hostel scheme, said Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde on Thursday.
The government will construct 20 hostels in selected 10 talukas under the project, he said.
Sharing the information on the microblogging site Twitter, Munde said, “Under the Gopinathrao Munde Ustod Kamgar Kalyan Mahamandal, a decision has been taken by the Department of Social Justice to approve the construction of 20 hostels in selected 10 talukas.”

Of the 20 hostels, 12 will be constructed in Beed district including two each in Parli, Majalgaon, Gevrai, Beed, Kaij and Patoda talukas.
Two hostels each will be constructed in Pathardi and Jamkhed talukas of Ahmednagar district and two each hostel will be set up in Ghansawangi and Ambad talukas of Jalna district.
Children of sugarcane workers studying from class V till PG will be eligible for admission in these hostels.
