Hapur: District Magistrate Anuj Singh has asked the sugar mills in the district to clear the pending cane dues on a priority basis. Simbhawali and Brijnathpur sugar mills have been directed to clear the arrears.
DM issued instructions to the managers of the sugar mills in a recent meeting convened in presence of a district cane officer. He said that the farmers should get their cane bills on time and the sugar mills should not delay their payments. He asked the district cane officer to initiate action if the sugar mills fail to clear the dues.
Uttar Pradesh government seems to be strict and warn of action to sugar mills over pending cane dues. Recently, State sugar minister Suresh Rana said.” We are keeping a close watch on sugar companies who are yet to clear cane dues.”
So far, the state government has made a record payment of Rs 1,37,518 crore to more than 45.44 lakh sugarcane farmers. This is twice the BSP government and one and a half times more than the SP government.
