Kasganj: The Sugarcane department has issued notice to the sugar mill in Kasganj over delay in the cane payment to the cane farmers. The department has asked the mill to speed up the process of clearing cane dues.
According to the news report published in Amarujala.com, the mill apart from purchasing cane from its jurisdiction had purchased the cane from farmers in Aligarh and Badaun districts. Many months have passed since the closure of the operations but the mill has yet not cleared the pending cane dues.
Farmers are worried over delays in cane payment and have urged the district administration to take appropriate steps to ensure that the mill makes payment on time.
