Muzaffarnagar: Encouraged by the central government’s call to increase ethanol production, distilleries in Muzaffarnagar district are moving in the same direction.
As per the news report published by the PTI, an official said, “Three distilleries in the district have produced 6.73 crore litres of ethanol in 2020-21.”
The central government with an aim to lower the expenditure on foreign exchange has set a target of blending 20 per cent ethanol with petrol by 2025.
Uday Prakash, District Excise Officer, Muzaffarnagar said, “Triveni Alco has produced 4.30 crore litres ethanol. Mansurpur Distillery produced 1.31 crore litre and Tikaula Sugar Mills produced 1.12 crore litre ethanol during 2020-21 season.”
Uttar Pradesh has become the largest ethanol-producing state in the country. The state is leaving no stone unturned to meet the ethanol production target set by the Central government.
One after another new investment is coming into the ethanol sector in the country. In the recent past, many companies had announced capital expenditure for ethanol production.
