Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of RLD raised the demand for pending cane dues.
According to the news report published in Jagran.com, during a meeting with workers at the party office, Dr. Jagpal Singh Tevtiya, district unit head said that RLD will raise a voice against the delay in clearing cane dues and will launch an agitation for the same.
Cane dues in UP may impact the upcoming assembly elections as the sugarcane industry plays an important role. Sugarcane farmers said that due to pending cane dues they are suffering from the financial crisis. Whereas sugar mills claim low sugar sales have impacted their business and therefore they failed to accumulate the capital and clear the cane dues on time.
