Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty opened marginally higher on Friday.
At 10:20 am, the 30-share index was trading 85.87 points higher at 54,578.71, while the broader NSE Nifty inched 30.40 points higher to 16,325.00.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday kept repo rate unchanged for seventh time straight and continued with an accommodative stance, citing the need to support ongoing growth recovery amid continued uncertainty and global financial market volatility.
IndusInd Bank was the top gainer in the Sensex pack, rising around 3 per cent, followed by M&M, Maruti, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma and NTPC.
On the other hand, HCL Tech, Titan, Nestle India and Infosys were among the laggards.
