Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended higher today. Sensex closed on 17th August at 209.69 points higher at 55,792.27. Nifty ended 51.55 points higher at 16,614.60.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on 16th August at 145.29 points higher at 55,582.58. Nifty ended 33.95 points higher at 16,563.05.
Among sectors, IT, FMCG and Pharma indices ended in the green, while Nifty Metal, Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Auto and Nifty Realty fell the most.
