Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended flat today. Sensex closed on 26th August at 4.89 points higher at 55,949.10. Nifty ended 2.25 points higher at 16,636.90.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on 25th August at 14.77 points lower at 55,944.21. Nifty ended 10.05 points higher at 16,634.65.
Britannia Industries, Tata Consumer Products, HDFC Life, BPCL and Reliance Industries were the top Nifty gainers. Bharti Airtel, JSW Steel, Maruti Suzuki, Hindalco Industries and Power Grid were among the top losers.
