Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told sugarcane farmers on Wednesday that the government will not sell any sugar mill in Uttar Pradesh and payment of cane dues will be made at the earliest.
He was speaking on the occasion of launching development projects worth Rs 433 crore in the Amroha district.
According to the news report published in The Times of India, CM said, “The government has cleared a record pending cane dues till date and remaining payment will be cleared soon. We managed to run the sugar mills even during the pandemic when the mills across the country were shutting their operations due to Covid-19.”
We had then ensured that all mills continue cane crushing operations in the interest of the cane farmers and that has yielded good results benefiting cane farmers, he said.
“Before our government came to power, the cane payments of worth Rs 95,000 crore were made between 2007 and 2017. Since we came to power in 2017, we have cleared dues worth Rs 1.45 lakh crore,” CM further added.
