Karnal: Karnal will supply around 2 lakh tonnes of paddy straw for the ethanol plant of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) in Panipat.
According to the news report published in TribuneIndia.com, the plant will begin the processing from April 2022, but the authorities will start collecting the straw this season. The agency that will collect the stubble from the farmers will be finalised soon.
The plant has a capacity of utilising 2.20 lakh tonne straw and around 20,000 tonnes of straw will be taken from farmers in Panipat.
