Sensex ends 813 points higher; Nifty above 17,300

Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended higher today as India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to expand by 9.2 per cent in the current financial year. Sensex closed on January 31 at 813.94 points higher at 58,014.17. Nifty ended 237.90 points higher at 17,339.85.

In the previous season, Sensex closed on January 28 at 76.71 points lower at 57,200.23. Nifty ended 5.50 points lower at 17,104.65.

Tech Mahindra, Tata Motors, Wipro, BPCL and Bajaj Finserv were the top Nifty gainers, while losers were IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, UPL, Coal India and HUL.
