Maharashtra: Nanded division crosses 10 per cent sugar recovery rate

Sugarcane crushing season in Maharashtra is at its peak. And in the ongoing crushing season, more sugar mills (194) have participated as compared to the previous season (190).

According to the sugar commissionerate, 27 sugar mills in the Nanded division are operating this season. The mills have, till January 30, 2022, produced 69.05 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 68.64 lakh tonnes of sugarcane with a recovery rate of 10.06 per cent.

The sugar output in Maharashtra is reported at 719.66 lakh quintals by crushing 716.20 lakh tonnes of sugarcane with a recovery rate of 10.05 per cent. A total of 96 cooperative and 98 private sugar mills are operating in Maharashtra.
