Mukerian: Alleging that the sugar mill has wrongly distributed the sugarcane demand slips, the sugarcane farmers of Mukerian gheraoed the office of the sugar mill on Tuesday, reports The Tribune.
The farmers said that the wrong distributions of slips have created problems for them and they are unable to clear their fields in time to take the wheat cultivation.
“The mismanagement in the distribution of sugarcane demand slips has created many problems for us. The delay of the sugar mill has resulted in a delay in clearing cane fields and taking up sowing of the next crop,” they said.
Sanjay Singh, General Manager of the sugar mill interacted with the farmers and assured them that all the demands made by farmers would be addressed and soon the details of the sugarcane demand slips would be displayed on the display board in a transparent manner.
