Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended higher today. Sensex closed, on March 9, 1,223.24 points higher at 54,647.33. Nifty ended 331.90 points higher at 16,345.35.
In the previous season, Sensex closed, on March 8, 581.34 points higher at 53,424.09. Nifty ended 150.30 points higher at 16,013.45.
Asian Paints, Reliance Industries, Bajaj Finance, M&M and IndusInd Bank were among the top Nifty gainers. On the other hand, Shree Cements, Power Grid Corporation, ONGC, NTPC and Coal India were the biggest losers.
