Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has in principle approved 12 investments projects which will attract an investment of around Rs 2071 crore. It has also gave the nod for setting up of a Rs 251-crore grain-based ethanol and power plant in Cuttack district by JK Biotech.
With an aim to achieve the ethanol blending target set by the Central government, Odisha has boosted its ethanol production. Currently, ethanol blending per cent in the state stands at 7.87 per cent till 13 March 2022. Last year government had advanced the ethanol blending target from 2030 to 2025.
The Central government is leaving no stone unturned to make the process easy for setting up ethanol plants in the country. Therefore, it has rolled out National Single Window System (NSWS) for approvals related to ethanol projects.
