Mandya: State-owned MySugar Mill in the Mandya district may start cane crushing operations by July this year, reports The Times of India.
Managing director of MySugar Mill AC Patil said, “The state government has disbursed Rs 15 crore to kickstart operations at the mill and we have submitted a technical report to the state government in which we have recommended revival of the sugar mill. We have approached a Pune-based company to draft a feasibility report. Based on the recommendation, we have prepared the ground at the unit, and work is likely to begin in the first week of July.”
There were reports that the mill would be privatized that had triggered a political tussle and parties had opposed it. The government has also provided Rs 50 crore in the 2021-22 budget for restarting the crushing at the mill.
