Chennai: Sakthi Sugars Ltd, a Coimbatore-based company, said on Monday that the company plans to sell its sugar and distillery units located in Odisha. Along with this, the company is also selling a soya factory in Tamil Nadu.
The board of the company has approved the sale of these two plants in the recent meeting. The steps have been taken to reduce the debt of the company.
The company acquired the Odisha sugar plant a few decades ago. Sakthi Sugars is one of the major sugar producers in the country. The company also also engage in the production of other items apart from sugar.
