To promote digitalisation in the sugar industry, the measure has been taken in Maharashtra. Soon, sugarcane farmers in the state can get real updates related to Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) and other things related to sugarcane on an app.
The progress of an app is in the last phase and will be launched soon.
The app will also contain details of farmers and factories from Maharashtra who are registered with the sugar commissioner’s office.
Once the app gets launched, state’s 184 sugar factories and the sugarcane farmers will get all information on a single click. Currently, farmers are bound to visit the sugar factory office to get details regarding the quantity of cane crushed, amount of received payment, cane arrears etc.
Farmers will have to just login the app with their registered mobile number or registered ID number to access the information.
Maharashtra sugar commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad said, “The app in the last phase of testing. Once all errors get eliminated, then soon it will be launched.”
