The equity benchmark indices ended higher today. On June 1, Sensex closed 436.94 points higher at 55,818.11. Nifty ended 105.25 points high at 16,628.00.
In the previous season, on May 31, Sensex closed 185.24 points lower at 55,381.17. Nifty ended 61.80 points low at 16,522.75.
Among the sectors, the oil & gas index added over 2 percent while selling was seen in auto and capital goods names.
